Wednesday, JAN. 10	College Hour: Week of Welcome (WOW!) “Gratitude Wall” & Kosher Falafel Campus Center Dining Room (2201); 12 noon-1 p.m. Share what you are grateful for on the “Gratitude Wall,” and enjoy an Israeli DJ, kosher falafel, borekas, bagels, cream cheese, pita, and hummus!
Thursday, JAN. 18	Lecture Series I & Film Festival I: Holocaust Survivor Ben Stern Hearthside Lounge (2313); 10-11:30 a.m. This Holocaust documentary Near Normal Man followed by a conversation and Q&A with the survivor of nine concentration camps and two death marches Ben Stern.
Wednesday, JAN. 24	Krav Maga: Self-Defense Training Hearthside Lounge (2313); 12 noon-1:30 p.m. Instructor David Kadosh will be teaching a class on how to defend yourself using the Israeli martial art of Krav Maga.
Thursday, JAN. 25	Lecture Series II: History of Antisemitism in American Literature Hearthside Lounge (2313); 12 noon-1:30 p.m. ��ū�� English Instructor Dr. Scott Lankford will speak about the long and daunting history of Antisemitism in American literature — including such beloved classics as Uncle Tom’s Cabin and The Great Gatsby.
Friday, JAN. 26	Lecture Series III: History of American Jewish Humor Hearthside Lounge (2313); 9-9:50 a.m. ��ū�� English Instructor Bryan Hoffer will speak about growing up with comedian Mel Brooks and how our backgrounds and identities shape our perception of comedy.
Tuesday, JAN. 30	Film Festival II: American Jerusalem — Jews and the Making of San Francisco Hearthside Lounge (2313); 10-11:50 a.m. This documentary is about the Jews of San Francisco, and the central role they played in transforming San Francisco from sleepy village to thriving metropolis.
Tuesday, JAN. 30	Film Festival III: An American Tail Hearthside Lounge (2313); Noon-1:50 p.m. This movie tells the story of Fievel Mousekewitz and his family as they emigrate from the Imperial Russian territory of Ukraine to the United States for freedom.
Wednesday, JAN. 31	Closing Ceremony: Tu Bishvat Tree Planting Administration Building (1900), S. Wing Garden; Noon-1 p.m. Tu Bishvat is the Jewish New Year for trees. Join us for an oak tree planting ceremony to bring the Jewish Heritage Month to a close. We will be providing a wide range of dried fruits and nuts to enjoy.
